Water Treatment Systems We Install

Most people call us about one of four things: a chemical taste in tap water, white scale on faucets and glass shower doors, wanting better drinking water at the kitchen sink, or extra protection against bacteria. Whole-home filtration treats every tap, a water softener deals with scale, reverse osmosis gives you a dedicated drinking water faucet, and UV water treatment adds a disinfection step. Many homes only need one of these. We will tell you which one fits before you spend anything.

    Whole-Home Filtration

One filter on your main line treats the water at every tap, shower and appliance, with a clear record of where it went and how it was connected.

    Water Softeners

We check your hardness first, size a softener to your home and water use, and document the install so you can see exactly what went in.

  • Reverse Osmosis

An under-sink reverse osmosis system gives you a dedicated tap of filtered water for drinking, coffee and cooking, sized to your household and your cabinet space.

  • UV Water Treatment

A UV stage that treats microorganisms in your home's water without adding chemicals, sized to your flow and fitted behind the right prefilter.

About Water Filtration Plano

We started Water Filtration Plano because so many people told us the same story. Someone came out, talked fast, installed a big system and left them unsure what had been done or whether they even needed it. We wanted to work the opposite way.

So every job comes with photos. You see the pipe before we touch it, the fittings we use and the finished install. If we spot something unrelated, like a slow drip at your water heater, we take a picture of that too and simply let you know. It is your home, and you should have the full picture.

Where We Work

We serve homes throughout Plano and nearby communities, including Richardson, Allen, Frisco, Carrollton, The Colony, Murphy, Addison, Fairview, Parker and Garland. Much of the housing here was built from the 1980s onward, with main lines that typically enter through a garage or utility area. That layout often makes for a clean, straightforward install.

How a Job Runs, Start to Finish

Here is what happens from your first phone call to the day the water runs clean.

  1. 1

    A conversation by phone

Tell us what is bothering you, whether that is taste, scale, spots or just wanting better drinking water. We set up a visit at a time that works for you.

  2. 2

    Your visit, documented

We look at where water enters your home, check the space, drain and power, and photograph everything. You also get a water report so the recommendation is based on more than a guess.

  3. 3

    Your quote, explained

We walk you through the system we suggest, what it fixes, what it will not, and what upkeep it needs. Nothing is scheduled until you say yes.

  4. 4

    Installation day

We protect the work area, shut off the water, make the tie-in and test for leaks and pressure. Most homes are without water only for part of the visit.

  5. 5

    A walkthrough before we leave

We show you the bypass valve, how to change filters and when to expect the next service. You keep the before and after pictures for your records.

Why Plano Neighbors Call Us

Buying water equipment can feel like taking a salesperson's word for everything. We work so you never have to.

You see what we see
We photograph your main line, the spot where the system will go and any problems we notice, like a corroded fitting or a missing shutoff. Those pictures come with your quote, so you can look them over at the kitchen table without us standing there.
Installs by master-licensed plumbers
The plumbing work on every installation is handled by subcontracted master-licensed plumbers. That matters when we cut into your main water line, add a bypass valve or tie a drain line into your home's plumbing.
A warranty on the install itself
Our installs carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on installation-related defects. If a connection we made starts to weep or a fitting we set works loose in that first year, we come back and make it right.
A smaller system when that is the right answer
If an under-sink reverse osmosis unit solves your problem, we will not push a whole-house package. A look at your water and a written water report help show which issue you actually have, and the recommendation follows from that.
Your home treated like ours
We lay down drop cloths in the garage or utility closet, protect floors along our path and haul away packaging and old parts. You get a final look at the finished install and a tidy space.

Questions People Ask Us

Is my tap water safe, or do I really need a filter?

City water in our area is treated and tested to meet drinking water standards, so most people are not buying a filter out of fear. They want water that tastes better, less scale on fixtures or extra assurance at the drinking tap. We are happy to tell you if your current water is fine for your goals.

Why does my water taste like a swimming pool?

That is usually the disinfectant the city adds to keep water safe in the pipes. A whole-home carbon filter reduces that taste and smell at every tap, and an under-sink reverse osmosis system handles it at the kitchen faucet. Both are good fits for this complaint.

Do I need a water softener?

Not always. If you see white crust on showerheads, spots on dishes or short-lived water heaters, a softener can help. We check your hardness level during the visit so the decision rests on your numbers, not a sales pitch.

What is the difference between whole-home filtration and reverse osmosis?

Whole-home filtration treats all the water entering your home, including showers and laundry. Reverse osmosis sits under one sink and makes very clean water for drinking and cooking. Some families choose one, some choose both, and we will explain which makes sense for you.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Our installations carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on installation-related defects. We go over what that covers when we walk you through your quote.

What will I see in the pictures?

You will see your main line and the install area before we start, key steps during the work and the finished system with labeled valves. If we notice an existing problem, such as a worn shutoff, we capture it so you can decide what to do.

How much upkeep do these systems need?

It depends on the system. Sediment cartridges and RO filters need changing on a regular schedule, softeners need salt, and UV lamps are replaced periodically. We give you a simple schedule at the walkthrough.

What Shapes the Cost of a System

Two homes on the same street can get very different quotes. The equipment is only part of it. Where the plumbing runs, how much water you use and what is already in the wall all play a role.

We put together your quote after we have seen your setup and talked with you by phone. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes, and we will tell you plainly if your home qualifies.

Which system you need
A reverse osmosis unit under one sink costs less than a whole-home carbon tank. Adding a softener or a UV lamp to a whole-home setup raises the price, so we only suggest what your water and your goals call for.
Household size and water use
More bathrooms and more people mean higher flow. Larger homes may need a bigger tank or a higher-capacity unit so pressure does not drop when the shower and dishwasher run together.
Where your main line is
In many Plano homes the main comes up in the garage, which is easy to work on. A line buried in a wall, a cramped closet or a long run to reach a drain adds labor time.
Drain and power needs
Water softeners and reverse osmosis systems need a drain connection, and softeners and UV units need a nearby outlet. If neither is close, running one is part of the job.
Condition of existing plumbing
Older shutoff valves sometimes fail when turned, and corroded fittings near the tie-in point may need replacing. We document these with pictures during the visit so any extra work shows up in your quote, not as a surprise later.
Ongoing filters and media
Every system has upkeep: carbon media, sediment cartridges, RO membranes, salt or UV lamps. We explain the replacement schedule up front so you know the long-term cost too.

See Your Options Before You Commit
